Tinsley Nursery & Infant School, Sheffield

About our School

At Tinsley Nursery Infant School we want all children to feel happy, secure and valued as individuals; to enjoy learning; and to make good progress and become confident, independent learners.

Tinsley Nursery Infant school opened in 1909 and is situated on Siemens Close, between Bawtry Road and the M1.

We are fortunate at Tinsley, in that we benefit from being part of a wider community that is drawn from a variety of racial and cultural backgrounds. We see this as an enriching element, and value it. We have many challenges including high EAL, SEN and deprivation. Our exciting, creative approach to learning and high expectations enables children to achieve.

Our children make very good progress despite their low starting points. We set very high expectations with more children reaching the national expectations of Level 2b at the end of KS1 SATs. Through a range of interventions and additional support we endeavour to ensure where possible every child has a chance to reach their true potential.  At Tinsley Nursery Infant School we strive to enhance provision for the children through exciting hooks for learning and a themed approach to the curriculum.

At Tinsley Nursery Infant School we value all of our staff and invest heavily in ensuring they are equipped with the tools and techniques to thrive and flourish in this rewarding environment.   This professional and personal development is implemented through high quality CPD, networking and team teaching which builds effective and inspirational leaders of the future.
